In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Though a bit shy, Cloe knows her speech topic of “Why We All Need Feminism” is very important and is worth talking about. Cloe hopes that her speech will illuminate issues and inspire people to change and progress.

Danica Brown

Danica Brown is a human being (probably) who enjoys trying to understand life, comedy, and the people around her. If you know anything about these things (and most people do), she would appreciate your opinion on them. She spends her time making environmental films with Maui Huliau Environmental Film Club, taking improvisational comedy at MAPA, participating in her school drama program, and writing. Since her free time lines up perfectly with it’s opening hours, she spends a lot of time at King Kekaulike High School. One day, Danica hopes that she will be able to yell at and get very frustrated with the Hollywood moviemaking process as a director. You may know her for her extensive hat collection.

Since falling in love with cinema in middle school, Drew has written two full length screenplays and numerous others for short films. Drew was born and raised on Maui in a creative atmosphere which helped him to become the artistic individual he is today. Drew hopes to attend college on the East Coast and become a film writer and director, but until then, you can find Drew at the cinema.

Eliza Wright

Eliza Wright spends her days as a sophomore at Seabury Hall and her nights as a Broadway star. Well, not really, but that’s what she likes to think she’ll do in the future (minus the school part). While she’s not performing, Eliza enjoys reading the Harry Potter series for the umpteenth time and baking cakes. She’s sort of in between extracurricular activities at the moment. Although her biggest dreams are to be on Broadway and to travel the world with Michael Cera, Eliza has no idea what to do with the rest of her life. Her idols, Dame Maggie Smith and Beyonce Knowles, inspire her in everything she does, so maybe they will help her decide.
