Samuel Stone
Airman First Class Samuel Stone, a 20 year old airman from Dallas City, Illinois, graduated high school and joined the U.S. Air Force in 2013. After basic training and technical school, he came to Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, where he started training in his position and was certified that May. He has been performing his job as a 2nd Space Operations Squadron satellite systems operator for more than a year and recently became an instructor. The squadron performs the satellite command and control mission for the GPS constellation. The $3.6 billion GPS constellation consists of more than 30 operational satellites that provide highly accurate, 24-hour, all-weather, position, velocity and timing data to military and civilian users worldwide.
Thea Wasche
Thea Wasche and her animal assisted therapy K9, Lacey, have unselfishly donated more than 400 volunteer hours per year providing comfort, companionship and care to wounded service members and to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief services for the Front Range. Thea and Lacey are weekend volunteers at Fort Carson Evans Army Community Hospital providing animal assisted therapy to the men and women in the Wounded Warrior program and at special events and programs to include as the Colorado National Guard, Veterans Affairs nursing homes and veterans stand down programs. They are also members of the Pikes Peak Chapter of the American Red Cross, where they work disaster relief efforts for shelter management, community emergencies and individual needs. Thea and Lacey assist the families in all situations offering unconditional love and support. The team brings a calm, soothing presence to service members, veterans, hospitalized military family members and community members state wide.
Todd Benson
CoachTodd Benson coached 15 athletes of the 2014 Air Force Wounded Warrior Shooting team and will be coaching the team again in the 2015 Warrior Games. He began his shooting career as a member of the Air Force Academy Rifle and Pistol teams. While on the pistol team, Coach Benson became captain and guided his team to a National Championship earning the gold medal in free pistol. Furthermore, then Cadet Benson, was selected as an All-American in air pistol. He was also selected to compete with the Air Force International Shooting Team. While a part of the AF Team, Benson competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials earning a top 25 finish. As a coach, Benson's main goal for the team is to provide the athletes something to look forward to and give them a lifelong hobby they can be excited about.
