In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Christopher Choa
A native New Yorker, Christopher Choa is based in London and leads the urban development practice for AECOM, an international land-planning and infrastructure consultancy. He speaks frequently about the comparative advantages of cities, and works with city and national governments to develop regional-scale strategies. A graduate of both Harvard and Yale, Christopher serves on the UK executive board of the Urban Land Institute, and is on the external advisory board for the Sustainable Urban Development program at Oxford. He is an appointed member of the Mayor of London’s Infrastructure Delivery Board.Emily Mayhew
Dr. Emily Mayhew is historian in residence at the Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies, part of Imperial College’s Department of Bioengineering. Her primary research interest is in severe casualty in 20th and 21st century warfare. She has recently been commissioned by the Welcome Trust to write The Afghan Cohort, a history of casualty from the recent conflict in Afghanistan.Emmet Keeffe

Katherine Wiles graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge with a 1st class degree in Natural Sciences and the Cambridge University Physiology Prize. She has continued her studies in Medicine at Guy's, King's and St Thomas's Medical School in London where she has a particular interest in Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery. Raised in both Princeton, New Jersey and Cambridge, England, Katherine is an expert in the differences between the American and English educational systems as she was accepted as an undergraduate to Harvard, Princeton, MIT, CalTech, and Cambridge. She has been tutoring since 2005 as both a private tutor and in the non-profit sector and started her own tutoring business Wentworth Tutors in 2014.Katherine Wiles

Elizabeth Dibble is currently the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in London. From 2011 – 2013 she was Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, which manages U.S. relations with the countries of the Middle East and North Africa. From 2010 – 2011 Ms. Dibble was Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, where her portfolio included managing U.S. relations with the European Union and Western Europe. Prior to that, she was Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, with responsibility for U.S. relations with Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. She was a member of the State Department’s Senior Seminar from 2003 to 2004.Red Széll
Red Széll is a 41 year-old househusband living in London with the degenerative eye condition Retinitis Pigmentosa - the second most common cause of blindness in the UK. After graduating into a recession with a degree in English from Cambridge, he spent the first part of his working life in a hospital mortuary. Having cleared his overdraft he moved to London to follow his dream of journalistic greatness. Within three years he had scaled the dizzying foothills to achieve the post of Debutantes’ Correspondent for The Evening Standard. In his spare time he is a keen rock climber and in 2013 became the first blind person to scale The Old Man of Hoy, an achievement filmed by The BBC.Tyler Skow
My name is Tyler James Skow, I am 16 years old and a Sophomore at the American school in London. I was born in San Francisco and moved to London when I was nine with my twin Andrew, older brother Peter and mother and father. I am an avid rower for the ASL’s varsity crew team. My second home is the University of London boathouse where we row four times a week. If you are looking for me at school you will probably find me in the Journalism room where I spend most of my free time working on the school paper. Being on staff of the schools newspaper is my proudest achievement and most valued interest. I love journalism and I love to tell stories.Victor Haghani
Victor Haghani started his career in 1984 in the bond research department of Salomon Brothers, and later become a managing director in the bond arbitrage group run by John Meriwether. In 1993, he was one of seven founding partners of Long-Term Capital Management (LTCM). Victor remained at LTCM to assist in its liquidation, after which he worked at JWM Partners for two years. Since 2002 Victor has been involved in a variety of activities, including lecturing at the LSE, where he is a Senior Research Associate in the Financial Markets Group. Most recently, he has been conducting research into asset allocation and low cost wealth management strategies. Elm Partners was founded in 2011 to put those ideas into practice.
