This is a TEDxMarionCorrectionalSalon, which is a much smaller event. It is by invitation only. If you contact one of the organizers and are selected you will receive an email confirming your attendance. Your name that you communicate with an organizer with must be the name as it appears on your drivers license. If selected this name will be on the prison gate pass to enter Marion Correctional Instituation. This name must match photo identification. No substitutions are possible. No one can come in your place.
Marion is about an hour north of Columbus just west of Rt. 23on 940 Marion-Williamsport Rd.,Marion, OH 43302.
Those who are selected and attend are expected to stay for the entire event, arriving for processing into the prison at 12:00PM (Noon). In an emergency, arrangement can be made for you to leave. Everyone must be escorted in and out.
Please wear modest dress, cover knees, midriff. Low-cut or form-fitting clothing is not allowed, nor are logos representing alcohol, drugs or gangs or clothing with holes or cut-outs. Think “business casual.” The chapel is air-conditioned. As weather is unpredictable, a light jacket is recommended.
No electronic devices are permitted, so you get to spend a day without a cell phone. To expedite entry, it is best to bring only your license and car keys. There are lockers ($.25) if you do not want to leave things in the car.
