Theme: Revolution

This event occurred on
September 17, 2015
5:00pm - 8:00pm IST
(UTC +5.5hrs)
Shimla, Himachal Pradesh
India

The theme of this year is #Revolution and we have tried to select people who have been doing revolutionary work in their own fields and are willing to their their ideas with the world.

The word revolution instantly brings to mind the image of a large number of people gathered together, to support of a common cause. The fact, however, is that every revolution begins with a single person who has decided to devote her, or his, life for a cause. It is the spark inside these people that lights the fire in others around them, and leads to a chain reaction that eventually engulfs the whole world. We must pay close attention to such people, for who knows when we may get inspired too. As Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has"

Ashish Sood

Cyclist | Director MTB Himalaya
Ashish’s first brush with cycling was when he used one to commute to work when he was working in the US. What he did not know then was that cycling would soon become his passion and he would get a chance to further the cause of cycling in a big way by associating with the MTB Himalaya, a venture co-started by his brother a few years ago. Not satisfied with being a laid back manager, Ashish has decided to take a handles-on approach to cycling, and recently completed a seven day cycling expedition that traversed the length and breadth of Sri Lanka.

Sarbjeet Singh ( Bobby)

Social Worker | Founder, Almighty Blessings ( NGO)
A man who fears the living more than the dead, Mr. Sarbjeet Singh, popularly known as Bobby ji, has made service the mission of his life. He started driving dead body vans, at a time when even paid drivers were not keen on doing it. His NGO, Almighty Blessings, has been organising blood donation camps for the past many years, and their latest venture – a free canteen for patients and their attendants at the cancer hospital Shimla – has proved once again what one inspired individual can achieve when he, or she, sets his mind to do it.

Supriya Kaur Dhaliwal

Poet | Author
At the young age of 16, she published her first anthology of poems. That wasn’t enough for her and she published her second book, “Musings of Miss Yellow” recently. Pursuing her graduation in English Literature, Supriya is an inspiration for the youth of today because she knows what she wants, and how to get it. In today’s age and time when poetry seems to be on the decline, Supriya has decide to stand up and speak her heart out – in verse.
