Theme: Cosmos

TEDxYouth@OIS is an initiative that was started by the students of Oberoi International School in Mumbai, India. We decided on the theme of "Cosmos", because it was an apt description of the kind of speakers we hoped to showcase: people who pushed the limits and went above and beyond the limits that were set on them. Space might have been called the "final frontier" to explore by many, but to a person with ideas, there is no limit to what what they can achieve: there is no final frontier.

Ashish Vidhyarthi

Ashish Vidyarthi is an Indian film actor known for his works predominantly in Bollywood and Telugu cinema. He was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. He started acting in minor roles in regional television serials. His film career began with a supporting role in the Kannada Film Anand. He has won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1995. He is noted for his antagonistic characters.

Asmita Parashar

Asmita Parashar is a certified life and executive coach. Her repertoire of training encompasses enhancement of written communication skills, speech and diction as well as business and social etiquette; an overall development of personality, manners and grooming which are so vital in today’s competitive world. The experience of having lived and worked in the UK and India has enabled her to impart effective cross-cultural training programs to both Indians and Expats who have gained through her vast experience of understanding cultural nuances. She has trained hundreds of people in the areas of soft skills and personal development. Her list of Indian and foreign clients include corporate houses, banks, IT companies as well as individuals.

Nishka Dhawan

Nishka Dhawan started writing at the early age of 8; her first poem, believe it or not, was about a doughnut. For her writing was like a pastime, something to do when she was bored. Never did she envision herself 8 years later being able to share her writing with the world. She wrote her first book at the age of 16 titled Love- A Million Shades, a book that tackles the many facets of love.

Punam Medh

Punam Medh is a specialist in Instructional Design – a systematic and scientific approach to create learning based on how the human mind learns. She uses her Instructional Design expertise to create learning content for children and adults, using technology tools and media for making learning interesting. In her current role as Founder and Chief Instructional Designer at iDesign Skills, she has worked and consulted organizations across the globe. Punam’s session, ‘Using Comics for Learning’ puts a spotlight on what goes into creating a Comic as a vehicle for different subjects with multiple learning outcomes.

Sekhar Chandrasekhar

Sekhar Chandrasekhar is an organisational develop-mentalist, VUCA observer, systems thinker and a CEO coach. Sekhar majored in economics from Bombay University and did his post-graduation in advertising and marketing from St. Xavier's college, Mumbai. He has over 30 years of robust experience in creativity, marketing, and innovation initiatives, having worked with advertising agencies Lintas, Trikaya Grey, and Bates Clarion; the Otis elevator company; and from his entrepreneurial ventures, Fischer communications, and Athanor. He has facilitated long-term deep-change leadership development initiatives in several organisations pan-India.
