In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Sheila Chukwulozie

Sheila Chukwulozie has always had a passion for seeing people happy, so entertainment was a natural career path. After learning that art had the power to transcend reality and change mindsets, she became committed to finding new ways to fuse art and political theory specifically for Africa’s development. With a focus on gender equality, Sheila has spent three years developing her nonprofit organization, EmoART with a mission to equip African youth with the imagination of an artist, the technical skills of an entrepreneur and the emotional intelligence of a leader. Her dream is to ensure that Africa’s development will be created and sustained through the equal and equally appreciated efforts of its women and men. Sheila is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theater & Dance and a Five College Certificate in International Relations.
