He was formerly the Special Assistant (Advocacy) to Bolaji Abdulahi, the former Nigerian Minister of Sports In April, 2014, Ohimai was appointed as SA (Media & Strategy) to the Minister of State for Defence, Nigeria, Musiliu Obanikoro. He is known to have inspired many Nigerian youths to become involved in the Nigerian political process for the first time.
