Summit Prep’s academic program helps create a school culture that values ideas and passion: in other words, a “community of creative thinkers.” Our student body comprises of students coming from heterogeneous backgrounds. Some have a world of exposure, and others are first generation college goers. By the end of each student’s high school experience, they are college and career ready to face and overcome challenges. This year, with a team of engaged and creative students, Summit’s TEDx conference in school will help educate students in subjects not directly taught within the school curriculum and provide an exposure on how to implement the knowledge gained so far. To add, 96% of our student body is accepted to a four year college every year and our six year college graduation rate has surpassed the national average by almost 30 percent. Not to mention, 73% of all our graduates pass at least one AP test, while in the state of California, it is around 25%. These are the qualities that differentiate us from the high schools around us and make Summit a special place.

Glenn Ried

Matthew Richardson

Before coming to Raspberry Pi, he was a contributing editor for Make: Magazine, the premier magazine for makers. Raspberry Pi was my beat for a majority of his time there, so he kept an eye on Pi projects, hardware, and accessories. He also had the chance to go to many Maker Faires to give talks and meet fellow makers. As part of his new position, he'll continue to go to Maker Faires, but now help carry the Raspberry Pi banner in an official capacity. He is based in San Francisco and as a Raspberry Pi Evangelist. He will be responsible for outreach with a focus on the United States. He'll connect with organizations, talk to people about how they use Raspberry Pi, and make regular appearances here on the blog. l my other interests including technology, making, art, design, travel, airliners, ham radio, television, and a small dash of politics.
