The Cranbrook Kingswood Middle School for Girls along with the full Cranbrook Educational Community will be hosting our first annual TEDxCranbrookSchoolsWomen event.

TEDxWomen ignites amazing conversations about the accomplishments of women and powerful breakthroughs for women and girls. This event connects numerous TEDx events around the world in common purpose.

Dynamic and passionate in-house speakers and performers will share their ideas, talents and experiences with us and the world, around the theme "Invented Here.". We will be tying in the global TEDWomen conference by viewing a livestream of that event.

Our in-house speakers include:

Stacy Rivard, Head of the Cranbrook Kingswood Middle School for Girls, on “Girls don’t have to be reinvented, they need to be re-envisioned”

Anna Du, CK ‘14, on “Re-Inventing Communication”

Chase Sui Wonders, CK ‘14, “Inventing opportunities to make a difference

Abby Cohen, Cranbrook Schools’ Alumna, on “Inventing a bridge between developing a medical device and a consumer product”

About the Global event:
In San Francisco for the first time, TEDWomen 2013 will channel the bootstrap spirit of Silicon Valley to celebrate invention in all its forms. Not just technology and things, but also solutions to poverty; approaches to peacemaking; expressions of art, and, at times, our own lives. More than 150 TEDx events around the world will take part, sharing the livestream and presenting local speakers around the theme "Invented Here." The result: A truly global conversation -- from San Francisco to São Paulo to Seoul -- celebrating inventors and designers; thinkers and makers; local problem-solvers and global leaders. TEDWomen 2013: Invented Here.
