On the 5th of April 2014 we will be hosting our second TEDxJesmondDene event. Following the success of our first event in 2013, we decided to explore another theme close to our hearts. The event will feature inspiring speakers, artists and videos that will explore the theme of ‘Legacy’.

TEDx is a programme of local, self-organised events made possible by local organisers who want to engage their communities. Since TEDx was launched in 2009 there have been over 8000 TEDx events in more than 130 countries, and over 1000 are currently being planned. Part of the draw of TEDx is that feeling of being part of something bigger than ourselves- a worldwide movement of people who to see how they can be agents of change in the community.

At TEDxJesmondDene 2014, our speakers will takes us on a journey for what legacy means to them, each within 6-18 minutes. They will explore what it takes to infuse a city or a community with a desire for change and resurrection, and will explore what creating a legacy means to them. Our talks promise a wide range of information from street art to what it takes to build the legacy of an Olympian, from the legacy of Science Centers to building leadership and systems for change.
