About this event
TEDxYouth@JT is an interdisciplinary conference to be held at Lahore Grammar School Johar Town, discussing a range of socially relevant topics, which shall be spoken on by a range of guest speakers from various professions and walks of life. The aim of this event is to bring a plethora of different topics under discussion on one forum and thus gather unconventional viewpoints and perspectives on them.
The speakers at TEDxYouth@JT may not all be from the youth, but the event is definitely for the youth. We at TEDxYouth@JT center our conference around the notion of introducing Pakistan's Youth to a closer look at the society that it will ultimately inherit: it's problems, it's conditions, it's hopes and it's dreams.

A quick search of the internet would tell you that Hina Jillani is "is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and a human-rights activist". The reality of her role and involvement in the humanitarian scene, however, runs far deeper than this. Human-Rights activist, Women's right activist, advocate, and expert in critical human rights investigations, Hina Jilani is a figure who has quite literally, seen it all. As a result their work in the field of women's activism, she has been arrested, received death threats, and faced hostile propaganda, intimidation and public abuse, yet has remained steadfast in her stance against the systematic oppression of women in all societies the world over, but particularly Pakistan. From 'UN Center for Human Rights defenders'-affiliate to member of the international group of statesmen, peace activists and human rights advocates known as "the Elders", Hina Jilani has an international and historical presence that not many people can lay claim to, and is as such, right at home among the international personalities that constitute the speaker-lineups for TEDx events.
