Master Siddarth

Siddharth Nagarajan, the 13 year old prodigy, has been mesmerizing the audience around the globe for the last 10 years!! He continued to display his craving for rhythm as he grew. It is therefore no wonder that National Geographic Channel identified Siddharth as one of the 7 geniuses of the world (inborn category) and telecast it in their prestigious show My Brilliant Brain on Dec 10th ’07. Siddhu was just asked to just play something he liked and to everyone’s amazement the little lad ended up giving a spellbinding 12-minute solo performance leaving everyone open-mouthed. This performance took Siddharth into the LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS for the first time as INDIA’S YOUNGEST DRUMMER ’03, ‘04 & ‘05. Siddhartha’s initiation was done by none other than the world famous percussionist Shri.Sivamani in Mumbai (01/09/00). His initiation was after his first performance!!

Aravind Gangaram Talekar

Aravind Gangaram Talekar is a member of Mumbai's dabbawalas (also, Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers Charity Trust). A dabbawala (literally, box person), is a person in the Indian city of Mumbai who is employed in a unique service industry whose primary business is collecting the freshly cooked food in lunch boxes from the residences of the office workers (mostly in the suburbs), delivering it to their respective workplaces and returning back the empty boxes by using various modes of transport. More than 175,000 or 200,000 lunch boxes get moved every day by an estimated 4,500 to 5,000 dabbawalas, all with an extremely small nominal fee and with utmost punctuality. Remarkably, they have not had any strike for 116 years. According to a recent survey, there is only one mistake in every 6,000,000 deliveries, statistically equivalent to a Six Sigma (99.9999) rating. The BBC has produced a documentary on dabbawalas, and Prince Charles, during his visit to India, visited them. Owing to the tremendous publicity, some of the dabbawalas were invited to give guest lectures in top business schools of India, which is very unusual. Most remarkably in the eyes of many Westerners, the success of the dabbawala trade has involved no advanced technology. The New York Times reported in 2007 that the 125-year old dabbawala industry continues to grow at a rate of 5-10% per year.
