Theme: In Violence, In Peace
Beirut , Lebanon
August 27th, 2013
About this event
There have been recent violent bombings in Lebanon that is both heartbreaking and disempowering.
Our first response was to cancel this salon in mourning of the death of our loved ones and community members.
But with further reflection, we want to take a more active response and role. We have decided to keep the salon going with a different theme: In Violence, In Peace.
We believe that now, more than ever, we need to create inclusive spaces for people to come together, share their stories and struggles, and reflect on ways we can move beyond these violent experiences and allow ourselves to grow from them and to take action.
This salon is not just about what happened. It's about what will happen. It's about the active role we decide to play in our common future.
We hope you will join this conversation around our shared struggle against violence.
(In case you were wondering, our previous theme was: the maker movement.)
