Theme: yesterday, tomorrow

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

山下 賢太　 小さな島ブランド株式会社 代表取締役 鹿児島県上甑島生まれ。 JRA日本中央競馬会競馬学校を中退後は、キビナゴ漁船の乗組員を経て京都造形芸術大学環境デザイン学科地域デザインコースを卒業した。甑島のおいしい風景をつくることをミッションに、東シナ海の小さな島ブランド株式会社（通称=island company）を設立。その後、古民家を改修したとうふ屋「山下商店 甑島本店」を開業し、第一次産品の生産から加工・デザイン・販売を手がけている。 Kenta Yamashita Representative Director of Island Company He was born in Kami-Koshikijima in Kagoshima Prefecture. After leaving Japan Racing Association’s horse racing school, he worked as a crew member of a fishing boat catching silver striped round herring. He graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design after studying about regional design in the environmental design department. With the mission of making Koshikijima a land of deliciousness, he established the East China Sea Small Island Brand Company (nicknamed Island Company). After renovating an old Japanese-style house, he opened a Tofu store called “Yamashita store, Koshikijima main store” where he manages everything from initial production to manufacturing, design and sales.
