    The first TEDx event held at an archeological site, TEDxKalamata took over the ancient ekklesiasterion (assembly hall) of Messene, Greece. Using the remains of this ancient theater as a backdrop, 50 volunteers and 18 speakers came together to imagine a new future for Greece and the world.

    TEDxArendal celebrated the rich history of Norway's Agder region -- an area known for coastal towns and seaworthy inhabitants -- by juxtaposing it with ideas for its future. Their theme, "Ancient horizons - New connections," encouraged 15 local speakers to draw inspiration from the adventurous spirit of Norway's ancient sailors, who brought home new ideas via encounters with new cultures, new cities and new experiences on the sea.
