Jednom stvorena, plastika (gotovo) nikada ne umire. Kao učenice završne godine srednje škole, Miranda Veng i Dženi Jao krenule su u potragu za novim bakterijama koje bi razgradile plastiku - posebno uništavanjem ftalata, opasnog plastifikatora. Odgovor su pronašle iznenađujuće blizu svojih domova.
