Dans la bande dessinée "Les 99", la nouvelle génération de héros de Naif Al-Mutawa combat plus que le crime — elle pulvérise les stéréotypes et livre bataille contre l'extrémisme. Tirant leurs noms des 99 noms d'Allah, les personnages renforcent des messages positifs de l'Islam et traversent les cultures pour créer un nouveau cadre moral qui confronte le mal, et fait même équipe avec la Ligue de Justice d'Amérique.
