Tonijnen zijn oceaanatleten - snelle en ver-gaande roofdieren waarvan we de leefgewoonten nog maar net beginnen te begrijpen. Mariene bioloog Barbara Blok rust tonijnen uit met opsporingstags (compleet met transponders) die ongekende hoeveelheden gegevens registrerenover deze prachtige, bedreigde vis en de oceaanhabitats waarin ze leven.

Barbara Block studies how tuna, billfish and sharks move around (and stay warm) in the open ocean. Knowing how these large predators travel through pelagic waters will help us understand their role in the wider ocean ecosystem. Full bio »
