ईरान में जन्मीं शीरीं निशात देश-निकाले के दौरान कला को जीवित रखने के विरोधाभास से हमें अवगत कराती हैं। अपने लोगों की आवाज़ हैं वो, मगर अपने घर नहीं जा सकतीं। अपने काम में निशात इस्लामिक क्रांति के पहले के और बाद के ईरान पर अन्वेषण करती हैं, स्त्रियों के शक्तिशाली अंकन के ज़रिये राजनैतिक और सामाजिक बदलाव का अध्ययन करती हैं।

Shirin Neshat has lived much of her life outside her native Iran. Her photographs and films offer a glimpse of the cultural, religious and political realities that shape the identities of Muslim women worldwide.
