Phyllis Rodríguez y Aicha el-Wafi cultivan una amistad producto de una pérdida impensable. El hijo de Rodríguez murió en los ataques al World Trade Center el 11 de septiembre de 2001; el hijo de el-Wafi, Zacarias Moussaoui, fue condenado como partícipe en los ataques y está cumpliendo una sentencia de cadena perpetua.
