Η προσπάθεια του Άαρον Χιούι να φωτογραφήσει τη φτώχεια στην Αμερική τον οδήγησε στον ινδιάνικο Καταυλισμό Πάιν Ριτζ, όπου ο αγώνας τον αυτοχθόνων Λακότα --συγκλονιστικός και σε μεγάλο βαθμό παραγνωρισμένος-- τον ανάγκασε να εστιάσει εκεί την προσοχή του.
