Der MIT-Forscher Deb Roy wollte herausfinden, wie sein neugeborener Sohn die Sprache lernt - dafür stattete er sein Haus mit Videokameras aus, um (mit Ausnahmen) jeden Moment des Lebens seines Sohnes einzufangen. Danach parste er 90.000 Stunden Heimvideo, um zu beobachten, wie aus "gaaa" langsam "Wasser" wurde. Eine erstaunliche, datenreiche Forschungsarbeit mit weitreichenden Konsequenzen für unser Lernen.

Deb Roy studies how children learn language, and designs machines that learn to communicate in human-like ways. On sabbatical from MIT Media Lab, he's working with the AI company Bluefin Labs. Full bio »
