V historii islámu, říká novinář Bobby Ghosh, existovaly dvě strany džihádu: jedna, ta vnitřní, osobní boj za to být lepším člověkem – a ta druhá, vnější. Malá menšina (v poslední době Usáma bin Ládin) si přivlastnila tu druhou a použila ji jako omluvu pro smrtící globální násilí proti "Západu". Ghosh navrhuje, že teď když se bin Ládinova světová organizace rozdělila, je na čase navrátit tomuto slovu jeho ztracený význam. (Natočeno v TEDxGeorgetown)
