Kakenya Ntaiya fez um acordo com o pai: ela sujeitar-se-ia ao tradicional ritual de passagem masai de circuncisão genital se ele a deixasse frequentar o ensino secundário. Ntaiya conta-nos a história destemida do seu percurso até à faculdade e de trabalhar com os anciãos da sua aldeia para construírem uma escola para raparigas na sua comunidade.
