Met zijn team van SENSEable City Lab maakt Carlos Ratti van MIT leuke dingen door data die we creëren, aan te voelen. Hij gebruikt passieve datareeksen — zoals onze telefoongesprekken of het afval dat we weggooien — om verrassende visualisaties van het stadsleven te maken. Hij en zijn team maken duizelingwekkende interactieve omgevingen van bewegend water en vliegend licht, aangestuurd door eenvoudige gebaren opgevangen door sensoren.

Architect and engineer
Carlo Ratti directs the MIT SENSEable City Lab, which explores the "real-time city" by studying the way sensors and electronics relate to the built environment. He's opening a research center in Singapore as part of an MIT-led initiative on the Future of Urban Mobility. Full bio
