Cordae is part of a generation of hip-hop artists weaned on the internet, leveraging platforms such as YouTube and SoundCloud to bypass traditional music industry gatekeepers and deliver music directly to fans. He has blazed his own trail to stardom, steadily becoming a music-world icon. His lyrical mastery has taken him from trailer parks and public housing to stages and screens around the world.
Cordae's 2019 full-length debut, The Lost Boy, cracked the Billboard Top 15 chart and resulted in four gold-certified singles and two Grammy nominations (for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song for the single "Bad Idea"). He has collaborated with musicians including Chance the Rapper, Anderson .Paak and Eminem. His second full-length album, From A Bird's Eye View, came out earlier this year.
