My TED Story

TED was brought to my attention several years ago while I was hosting a local TV show about the web. I found it to be a really good means of getting information and knowledge to people all over the world.
In 2011 after I took part in TEDxReghin, and was blown away by the whole conference, I started helping TEDxReghin organizers as a means of giving back to the community.

• A reply on Conversation: Why do we need violence to transfer power?

  Jan 25 2012: Violence is a purely animalistic reaction. Truly human individuals can see the power of the pen, let's say , rather than that of the sword. A male dominated society shouldn't be restricted to enforcing ideas through violence. I am Romanian, and a mock revolution is taking place. Violence is not used anymore, but nothing changes.

  Jan 25 2012: There is the case of revolutions when leaders will not move even if violence breaks out. Gaddafi held power with a strong hand and even blood shed. Are they really defending what they believe in? Are their morals so out of this world that they find violence an answer to defend their rule?

  Jan 19 2012: There is that clip on youtube against SOPA/PIPA saying that the web is a greater contribution to the US economy than the movie industry. I think that 'piracy' can lead to something creative. Many great painters started as imitators or forgers.

  Jan 19 2012: I know that almost all good creatives started working for free but slowly content creation leads you to something that gets the money. Being creative on youtube gets good ads and then good money out of it. If you think of corporations that are always expanding then yes, they suffer from this so-called creative sharing. There is one industry where creativity is not under copyrights. Clothing and shoe making lack strong copyright policies. Modify a little bit one T-shirt from a famous brand and it's a different one. Some might like it better and buy it. I think this is the case with creative content sharing.

  A comment on Conversation: Why do we chase happiness?

  Jan 19 2012: I do think that happiness has something to do with a physical state of well being. Knowing that chemicals trigger interesting and desired states, of mind or body, one can say that it's all down to the chemicals your body/brain produces for harmony and perfect function.

  A comment on Conversation: Children Learn Best When They Don't Know They're Learning.

  Jul 16 2011: I am an English teacher and my favourite method is playing games, in which I slip the different skills I want them to learn. The class is so much fun, and by playing a child will always learn something. Just like animals learn their ways by means of playing.
