I grew up in Oregon (the oldest of four boys), from there I joined the United States Navy and experienced a world that was new to me. I was an aviation ordnanceman (I loaded ammunition on the jets) which meant I worked on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier (USS Constellation). After an honorable discharge I moved to Reno, Nevada to further my education, this is where I obtained my BA in Journalism with an emphasis in advertising. After graduating I moved to Bozeman, Montana with my fiancee and daughter and Bozeman is where I live today, working at a design/advertising firm called Classic Ink.
Working hard and pushing my limits. I really am progressive and a dreamer, I always have been since childhood - I like it that way.
High-speed trains in America - We need to invest in our infrastructure, we are behind the times.
Anything really - but I might be borderline dabbling in the concepts of futurism.
Spelling - I was spelling bee champion in 4th grade.
The two things I like most about TEDx are the teamwork and community concepts, which I feel interact cohesively with each other. While in the Navy I learned just how teamwork and community can be applied to produce success. It is these concepts that make me appreciate TEDx, because the platform is designed where the smallest of communities can achieve international greatness through teamwork and community. TEDx events prosper when everyone works together and I am very excited to see Montana's very first TEDx event in Bozeman and I hope to see more in Missoula, Billings and the rest of Montana.
