More About Me

My TED Story

I want to share a moment in our first event of TEDxGDUFS 2010. At the end of the event, we thought of a great idea to collect all the questionnaires, which is to let everyone in the conference room to make a paper plane and fly it to the stage with exciting music, just like what we did in the childhood. I was so touching when I heard the music and saw all those paper planes flying up to the stage. It was so memorable because before the event, I faced so many hardships. The school didn’t allow me to host the event in the campus out of political reason in the beginning—they were afraid that someone would say something bad of the government. We cannot even recruit student volunteers publicly. And moreover, we could not find any sponsors because TEDx was so new that almost nobody knew it at that time (now it is quite famous after our event). We paid the event ourselves. However, we finally did it. That’s why I call it memorable when I saw those paper planes.
