About Me

I'm a student of Ewha Womans University in Korea studying Media Studies and Journalism. I really like to try delicious foods and travel all around the world (about 12 countries so far). Meeting new people and have conversations with them is one of the things that I like the most. Through that experience, I learn various thoughts, points of views, and different culture and social backgrounds. I always pray for the world peace. When I become a professional journalist, I want to do something for this world to make it a better place.

I'm passionate about

The thing that makes me excited most is communicating with other people and sharing worth spreading ideas and stories.

An idea worth spreading

While communicating with many people, I have learned many lessons by experiencing many second hand stories from the different aspects of societies that I did not know before. I believe sharing different experiences and ideas inspires everyone who participates in the process of the communication. For example, getting new ideas makes me be interested in the new fields that I didn’t know much before. Also when I get meaningful lessons from the other people, I try to apply those lessons into my real life, which helps my life to be more prosperous than before. This is also related to the reason why I started to watch TED Talks. They have awesome stories and ideas worth spreading!

People don't know that I'm good at

I'm good at playing piano. Well, not super duper good like a pianist but quite good i think. But there hardly are any chances to let people listen to me playing the piano.

My TED Story

My first meeting with TED was at TEDxRutgers event in 2010. While studying in the US as an exchange student, I volunteered for TEDxRutgers event. It was really impressive for me to communicate with brilliant people who are leading the world from various fields such as economy, science, music, etc. Sharing ideas worth spreading also fit into the point that I am highly interested in as mentioned above. Not only independently organized TEDx events, TED also provides awesome talks through the online website. I really enjoy watching those talks on TEDTalks. Now, I eager to hold another TEDx event and share this great TED-like experience with the people who haven’t experienced TED yet. I got a my first license on september 2010 and held the 1st TEDxEwha under the theme of "Revolution for Evolution." The second and third events were held under the theme of "Women, Minority, and Society: Beyond Bias and Barriers", and had a collaboration event with TEDxWomen 2011, TEDxChange 2012.
