Mark Emerson Dewey grew up spending his winters skiing the slopes and his summers hiking in back country of Mammoth Lakes, CA. Today, Mark splits his time between San Diego and Pasadena California, working with the nation's largest angel investment group, the Tech Coast Angels. Mark also works with Venture Capital firm Shepherd Ventures where he specializes in mobile and information technology and recently worked on the Quickoffice sale to Google. Mark also donates his time to participate in feasibility studies and commercialization strategy workshops with start-ups and college tech-transfer offices all over the United States.
Mark is the founding organizer of TEDxAmericasFinestCity in San Diego and is a community advocate for TEDx advising for TEDxChange, TEDxCity2.0, TEDxSDSU and TEDxUCSD. Mark is also on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Maker Faire and San Diego Coastal Rotary group. People love him for his easy humor and downright goodness. He is marrying the woman of his dream this year and is taking a break from wedding planning to soak up some TEDActive with his fiancee. Mark wishes to thank fellow TEDster Greg Koch for opening a Stone Brew tasting room one block from his house in Pasadena! He and Jacqueline plan to do some wedding tastings before the nuptials.
