  • A reply on Talk: Rory Sutherland: Perspective is everything

May 4 2012: That may be right for people who don't use the Google + toolbar, but if this is a perception issue, which is what Sutherland seems to suggest, I'm sure the vast majority of users using Google Search are aware that Google does much more than search.
  • A comment on Talk: Rory Sutherland: Perspective is everything

May 4 2012: Very insightful talk, with great examples, but someone needs to clarify his Google example. Google offers loads of services in addition to search, they don't just focus on search. And these other services are widely used (Gmail, Chrome, YouTube, etc.) so it can't be a problem of perception. Is Sutherland referring only to Google's beginnings, and the perception the world had of them back then?
  • A comment on Conversation: As a TEDx organizer please share a best practices, an innovation, something incredible or something useful from your TEDx event.

Jun 3 2011: Some great things mentioned here already. I'd just like to stress the importance of preparing your speakers for the talk of their lives. TED talks have a very particular format, and being able to engage with your speakers early on in the process, being able to interact with them and coach them towards delivering the best talk they can give will truly make a massive difference. It's a great learning experience for the speaker as well as the organizer.

A comment on Conversation: What is your favourite single sentence from a TED Talk?

Jun 3 2011: "It's one of the characteristics of a leader that he not doubt for one moment the capacity of the people he's leading to realize whatever he's dreaming. Imagine if Martin Luther King had said "I have a dream. Of course, I'm not sure they'll be up to it." Benjamin Zander on music and passion
