I was introduced to TED by my dear friend and TEDxKC Curator, Mike Lundgren. We were on a chairlift at the time and I asked him what was inspiring him lately. Without even hesitating he said, "You should go to the TED Conference." Well fortunately TED had just recently begun posting TED Talks on the internet. Sir Ken Robinson's Talk on why schools kill creativity was the first one I watched and after that I was a full TED addict. Over the course of a few years I had many small gatherings in my home where we would watch TED Talks and then have lively discussions. Early in 2009 TED announced the TEDx program and I wasted no time in registering for TEDxTC (Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN). Our first TEDxTC event was held in September of 2009. Through TED and the TEDx program I have met some of the most incredible people and have shared in amazing experiences. Mike was right - TED was exactly what I was looking for and it has become a very important part of my life.
