An idea worth spreading

I strongly believe in the importance of creativity as part of the education system, I'm very much inspired by the talks and work of Ken Robinson and Gever Tulley. Being a father of a 10-year old daughter I decided to promote and foster creativity at every level. I'm actively involved in my daughter's Montessori school having a Tinkering Class with 7- to 11-year olds and recently I established KreoLab - a civic organization, whose objective is to foster creativity.

Clay Shirkey taught me the value of human connection and how technologies now allow us to achieve many things without a need for having an institution. I decided to organize TEDxBratislava in 2010 basically to prove the point - that people centered around an idea they passionately believe in can achieve amazing things. Together with about 15 other people we managed to put up two extremely successful TEDxBratislava events.

My TED Story

I stumbled upon TED in August 2009 when on Anthony Robins' website I clicked on a link to his TED Talk. I was amazed by the content I found there. Anything I clicked on was marvelous. I immediately new that something important will come out of it.

Soon after discovering TED I got involved in the TED's Open Translation Project. Through that I meet Lucia Lukanova - another TED translator who asked me to review her translation (it was Clay Shirkey's talk about collaboration vs. institutions). I helped Lucia with organizing a small TEDx event in Prievidza in December 2009.

I wanted to inspire people in my community, my friends, teachers of my daughter, parents, and talk about issues I found important and that's why I decided to organize a large TEDx event in Bratislava.
