My TED Story

I applied and was accepted for the first time to TEDGlobal at Oxford in 2005. I am alive because my flight arrived a little late in my way to London on the date of the underground bombing July 7, 2005, I was going to be in the tube through that line in my way to my hotel. Being alive and part of TED community makes me very proud. TEDGlobal was an amazing experience. Unfortunately I did't attend TED2006, but I had the chance to be back again at TED2007, another mind boggling experience. At TED2007 I was selected for a TED-University class "Making the most of web 2.0". I will be there again for TED2008. My small contribution to TED comes from the mix of my global and latin american vision of technology and the Internet.

    A comment on Talk: Laurie Garrett on lessons from the 1918 flu

    May 6 2009: This talks confirms many issues that happened during this event. I live in Peru, our government did close the airport traffic to Mexico. The talk clearly show how impractical is this measure. Mean while last week, I flew from Lima to Buenos Aires, very few were using masks in the plane. In the morning of May 29 arriving at Buenos Aires airport at 7:00 am, only the custom officers were wearing masks. Nobody checked us. Later that day they make everybody coming from Lima sign forms to state where they were staying and also the government health people scanned everybody with a thermal scanner. Back to Lima it was amazing, all counters were wearing masks at Buenos Aires Airport, more on the plane than before, at the arriving to Lima, before opening the door of the plane we receive a message asking if someone feels bad to go with the health government officials at the door, nobody went with them. They gave us a paper with a toll free number to call in case of emergency.

    Apr 16 2007: The experience of this innovation is great. It opens a big potential for new ways of interactive exploration and new GUIs. I was really impress by the experience of testing the multitouch wall at TED2007. Congratulations Jeff and your team for this breakthrough!

  • A comment on Talk: Ken Robinson says schools kill creativity

    Apr 15 2007: Creating value, this is true nature of creativity. In Lima, Peru, my students at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas UPC are always inspired by Sir Ken Robinson video. This is an example of the wonder of TED's spirit.
