@TEDxVictoria Creative Director. Freelance multimedia specialist. Hawaiian/Canadian.
Ideas. Community. Changing the world. Emergence.
TED should be simulcast in every primary school in the world  imagine the thinkers, though-leaders, and creators of tomorrow being positively immersed and engaged in ideas and culture from a young age.
Anything related to storytelling or multimedia (I love stories). Photography. Videography. I'm a huge film buff. I absolutely love science fiction.
After watching Ken Robinson's talk "How Schools Kill Creativity" - and while attending school for the first time in 10 years - I decided to volunteer for a TED event for the first time: a simulcast of TEDWomen in Victoria, BC, in December 2010. One of the organizers there was the licensee for TEDxVictoria, and she had been looking for someone to take on that immense project, and she asked my classmate, Carol-Lynne, to do it. She didn't want to. I told her, "you're doing it, and I'll help", and from there we went on to organize the very first TEDxVictoria along with Licensee John Mardlin, who, due to his attendance at TEDGlobal in 2011, was able to allow our event to exceed 100 attendees. From there we organized TEDxVictoria 2012: Momentum, and now we're hard at work on TEDxVictoria 2013: Emergence with no signs of stopping!
