I have worked for many years in cultural sector moving more recently to the Voluntary sector. I've worked in small organisations delivering new projects through to working in big institutions on policy. I've brought my creativity and passion for equality to empower groups to develop the projects they really want to do. I found a fanastic home for my creativity in Leeds Library and Information Services, a place open to new ideas and willing to change. This enabled me to create a programme for writers, devise Leeds' first literature festival and win a PR Award for our National Year of Reading Campaigns. From the Libraries I went to work at Arts Council England working with people passionate about literature. I worked to create policy that was driven by those who needed it to be there. I supported and championed many new initiatives and individuals with talent. A number of which went onto to grow into thriving organisations and become published authors. I was selected as a Clore Fellow by the Clore Leadership Programme, completing a Leadership Training Course at the Banff Centre in Canada and wrote a paper on Young People's Participation in the Arts.
I have a CIPD Certificate Coaching and Mentoring and am a Trustee of MK ACT , the Domestic Violence charity for Milton Keynes.
I'm passionate about the power of individuals to make positive changes to their own lives and therefore in the world. I passionately believe that everybody has the right to be the very best they can.
The simple idea is simple if we expect great things of people we can help them to excel beyond their expectations.
