I also teach the language of Classical Dance underpriviledged children in NGO's in the city. I tour universities abroad speaking on cultural diplomacy and its importance. I am invited to speak at various TEDx events and I perform and speak at them to spread awareness on our heritage and culture. I also organize cultural events that are niche and unique. This is under my Foundation called Sarvam. My goal in life is to be known as someone who did something substantial for my country's cultural heritage. I want my peers and future generations to be proud of their roots and use their history to understand their present and map their future. Through my events, be it collaborations, carnivals, residencies, workshops and a TEDx event, I try and engage new and diverse audiences to participate and watch in the artistic process. I am also the youngest Rotarian in Delhi.
TED! Also, any new ideas and collaborations between people. I love thinking out of the box and connecting people to engage in as many new experiences as possible. Life is so beautiful!
Teaching a skill to an underpriviledged person is so uplifting and fulfilling for both the teacher and the student alike. We need to give a little love to get some love. I believe the best way to get out of any gloom or depression or boredom is to do some service for society. And that is best done by teaching a skill. It gives dignity and encouragement to the receiver. Being unloved, unwanted for, forgotten by everybody is a much greater poverty and hunger than that of the person who has nothing to eat- Mother Teresa. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0XCj73i57o
positivity, enthusiasm, love and respect. Life is too short to wallow in self pity or negativity. I love people whose eyes shine with wonder!
cooking South Indian cuisine and roller hockey!
A fellow intern at a political office signed me up as a speaker at a TEDx event in South Western India. I had no idea at that time(in 2010) how big TED was though my boss, the politician had spoken at TED India the year before!! I just prepared my talk well and after the video went up it received over 7500 views and I was hooked for life. I realized the power of its reach and how some amazing ideas can get delivered to so many people. I will always support the cause of TED and thus I also a Curator for TEDx now. I am proud to be a TED family member!!
