Hello,i'm Alexander Edem, a 29 year old social enterpreneur currently working on the 160millionminds initiative, an initiative that aims to increase the quality of education for public primary school kids in Nigeria. I am also co-founder at Socialbees an innovative and creative digital advertising start-up in Nigeria. My life goal is to change and enlighten the world through innovation, nonprofits, research, and social responsibility. I'm inspired by technology, design, innovation, giving back, research, philosophy, political action, arts music, and life. And I live my life on hardwork, play, more work, more play, coffee and doing good.

An idea worth spreading
My idea worth spreading is on a project i am working on with my foundation called the 160millionminds project. Nigeria has a population of roughly 160million people,and i know that out there are many more people like myself who are willing to dedicate a substantial part of their lives towards contributing to society through innovative solutions, hence my project is a web based application that allows social enterpreneurs from accross Nigeria to have a say about what projects they are currently working on, encourage volunteers to come aboard their projects and also seek partners and sponsors for their social projects, hence the platform allows hitherto unknown social enterpreneurs a space to draw people's attention to their works, encourage volunteers and sponsors to be part of their projects at local levels, challenge the community and stakeholders to also participate in their projects, what we are doing is building a community of change makers and social enterpreneurs.

People don't know that I'm good at
Finance, i love building a company or a product from start to finish, even though it normally doesn't always go as planned, i love the challenge of building something from start to finish.
My TED Story
i stumbled upon a ted video on the internet, i had to lock myself in for two days to look at the whole ted programme and what it stood for, i didn't need a soothsayer to tell me i was going to be a part of this, it was love at first sight for me and i fell in love with the Ted programme, i applied and got a license for my Tedx event and i hope to make a considerable impact with my event. i am planning an event around the theme "The Magic of chasing Dreams", i believe that in our world today if we could empower ourselves to chase down our dreams, hold it down and never let it go, we will all be better off for it. I hope to hold several other ted events, especially one around women and girls which i hope to have in December of this year around the women day celebrations.
