from http://careers.stackoverflow.com/colebrand I'll quote myself:
Why Cole?
Being awesome is what I excel at, and the reason I keep getting picked first. I know, it's hard to imagine a geek getting picked first, but it's true!
International Accolades
I was one of 30 students internationally that were accepted to goto Nice France for the International Summer School on Grid Computing in 2009 and one of only two undergrads chosen to go. I'll let you decide if I was one of their first picks ;)
Innovations Galore
More recently I've helped my current employer win awards for innovation in our vertical market, which focuses on large-scale data aggregation and reporting, with web-only UIs.
Socially Engaging
As for my newest set of ventures, I've recently started to breath some new life into some old groups here in Shreveport LA, focused around social networking for technology enthusiasts here in the area, mostly due to my connections with Stack Overflow and their Worldwide Meetup Day so that has been an exciting new thing to add to my toolbelt. I've gotten them to agree to meet regularly and we have this awesome space courtesy of CoHabitat Shreveport where we can have meetings, do presentations, eat pizza and drink beer and just have a generally convivial meeting environment.
$(self).brag()
I've never been asked to work on a project that I didn't excel at, and I don't plan on breaking that winning streak. I consistently wow people, whether with Web2.0, social engagements or just having a beer and a chat. Let me know when you want to have a beer and a chat, and we'll make it happen.
