  • A comment on Talk: Gordon Brown: Wiring a web for global good

    Jul 24 2009: I understand his statement regarding a common moral sense shared by people around the world, and the idea that it can be the ultimate basis of a global society made possible through technology. I agree that this is a very vague truth.

    However, this entire speech is nothing but rhetoric. It sounds like a campaign speech designed to boost his PR and I abhor that TED has even posted this. I have the ultimate respect for every member of the audience that DIDN'T participate in the standing ovation.

    This talk has shaken my faith in the idea that TED represents a free exchange of ideas absent of political and business concerns.


    Shame on you TED.
  • A comment on Talk: Alex Tabarrok on how ideas trump crises

    Apr 27 2009: I think this is an optimistic appraisal. The third world will never be developed to the extent that the rest of the world is. There aren't enough natural resources to sustain that level of development.
