A reply on Talk: Jessi Arrington: Wearing nothing new

Jun 6 2011: Not sure why you get so worked up about it... It was a talk by a woman, who has an interesting view on choosing her wardrobe. Then a man walks in, accuses her of being childish, and says something along the lines of "If a man wears bright colours - people will think he's gay". Which is a pretty silly statement to make. Some gay men wear bright colours. Not all bright-colour wearing men are gay... Besides, people will have their opinion of others regardless of those others being comfortable with this opinion.

  • A comment on Talk: Rogier van der Heide: Why light needs darkness

Mar 17 2011: So hard to see the stars in a city these days... However, it's such a beautiful sight... Why does stargazing have to turn into something fairly expensive, causing you to get far away into the wilderness to experience it properly? It shouldn't be like this...

A comment on Talk: Janna Levin: The sound the universe makes

Mar 16 2011: How very poetic and romantic. With small nuggets of horror of imagining Earth falling into a black hole and being crushed to death.

Dec 20 2010: As folks at Pirate bay say - "Sharing is caring" :)
  • A comment on Talk: Jason Fried: Why work doesn't happen at work

Nov 26 2010: So true... My work schedule is quite bizarre for North America, I think. I get to the office around noon. Most of the people leave the office at 3:30. So that gives me some time to talk to people if they have to, and then I work for good 4-5 hours in peace in quite all by myself in the office. Most productive time of the day...

Now I also started working more from home. Tracking hours is bit trickier because of all the "voluntary distractions", but some time ago I didn't think working from home was at all possible for me. I get distracted too easily. But once I get in the "flow" the distractions disappear on their own. If I'm distracted from work - it's probably a good chance that I'm not in the flow anymore and my productivity is crappy anyway...

A comment on Talk: Dan Phillips: Creative houses from reclaimed stuff

Nov 25 2010: Anyone who liked that talk should see the "Garbage Warrior" documentary. Different architect - similar premise.
  • A comment on Talk: Gero Miesenboeck reengineers a brain

Nov 4 2010: Kinda scary, but that is science for you. Pure science has never been constrained by morals, only subsequent practical applications were...

Also, this talk works nicely together with "I am my connectome" talk, that was recently featured on TED.
