    A comment on Talk: Kiran Bir Sethi teaches kids to take charge

    Feb 3 2010: Excellent talk by Kiran
    We often forget what we can learn from kids as we are busy teaching them to be like us
    The fact that our life was shaped by the child in us reinstates that we can learn now from the children around us.
    What the world needs is that unadulterated, unbiased and honest solutions to common problems.

    Remembering Wordsworth's Rainbow

    "My heart leaps up when I behold
    A rainbow in the sky:
    So was it when my life began;
    So is it now I am a man;
    So be it when I shall grow old,
    Or let me die!
    The Child is father of the Man;
    I could wish my days to be
    Bound each to each by natural piety."

    Lets skip our teaching hats and learn from our kids today
  • A comment on Talk: Asher Hasan's message of peace from Pakistan

    Dec 29 2009: It is so wonderful to see so much of our own who have been separated by a line in history come together in spite of the long processes that still hold us apart from one another. Hope this would be a message to both the bureaucrats in either countries as well as religious fanatics representing all religions from either sides to understand with compassion that "Our urge to live in harmony will win over the scourge of Territorial and ideological differences

    A comment on Talk: James Geary, metaphorically speaking

    Dec 18 2009: Interesting talk! never thought of Metaphor when ever I read one or wrote one as that has become so much a way of explaining something.
  • A comment on Talk: Thulasiraj Ravilla: How low-cost eye care can be world-class

    Dec 10 2009: Simplicity of Confidence, so well said by Dr. V. Medical practitioners world over have a position that many professionals don't have.

    People come to them with an unflinching element of trust, as it is looked more as a service than a profession. This demands the doctors to have a very bold responsibility on their part to make an impartial judgment of what needs to be done

    All professions have their service value but for a doctor any deviation from the concept of service impacts highly on a life.

    The high Medical cost is every where and health is not something anyone with commonsense can offer (unlike law). What we need is committed doctors, who will serve the community without a price tag and another group who can make this possible through the availability of funds and support staff.

    Aravind is so effective because the idea came in the mind of a doctor who had everything in his hand to make a change and when he decided to make the difference the world follow

    A comment on Talk: Sunitha Krishnan fights sex slavery

    Dec 7 2009: I am sure everyone who watched this video would have taken more than a moment to grapple with the horror. But it is the truth and is presented by someone who has gone through it.

    Dr. Sunitha's call to all is not in just rescuing, but rehabilitating. And that is where each and every one of us can contribute in one way or other

    She understands that for every rescue to be complete the lives that have been shattered should be restored.

    Cultural Silence, How rightly put. How high a price the world pays when we embrace silence and don't act.
