An idea worth spreading

People's prosperity, success or achievements drive them into thanking God and thus donating money to religious firms. Most Indians are extremely religious people. Happy or eager or sad, most Indians go on to donate huge sums of money (sometimes to the tune of crores) to the shrines or other religious firms. Donation and charity are personal and can be towards whatever pleases the individual but the aforementioned organizations use the money thus accumulated *not* in helping the needy but end up using it only to give better facilities to visiting VIPs or devotees. I would like to see a more mature society where people donate to much more important causes and not just meaningless religious organizations in the name of God or whichever fictional hero catches their fancy.

One country has people dying of obesity and another has people dying of starvation. UNFAIR!
