More About Me

I'm passionate about

Eradicating the disease of Aging! After that, we'll have time to fix the rest of humanity's problems.

An idea worth spreading

We have the ability to discover and control the processes involved in aging, and to be able to reverse this disease within a 25 to 30 year period. This requires an effort which is smaller than the foreign aid given to Afghanistan to fight the Communists! With a mere $2 - 4 Billion budget, we could conquer death by aging, and allow individuals to maintain their health and vitality for as long as they wanted.

If you think of each person as a storehouse of knowledge and experience, right now we have the equivalent of the burning down of 100,000 libraries a day! Imagine the social implications of saving these lives and allowing them to contribute to society rather than becoming a burden on society and eventually being lost to us.

Talk to me about

Life Extension, Artificial General Intelligence, The Singularity, Space Exploration, Analytic Philosophy, Epistemology, Politics, and Social Entrepreneurship

Mar 10 2013: I think you're confusing your stories. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephialtes_of_Trachis. This is a completely different Ephialtes than the Ephialtes who promoted democracy in Athens: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephialtes.

Mar 10 2013: I wholeheartedly agree with you. Skepticism was a hallmark of The Enlightenment. We need to be more skeptical of all forms of authority, not just of politicians. People should learn how to question statements by politicians, news people, advertisers, religious leaders, etc. Contrast this with the 2012 Texas Republican platform, which wanted to stop the teaching of critical thinking, for the very reason that it undermines parental and governmental authority (http://wapo.st/MfAkI2). Without this kind of neoEnlightenment, I don't think we can trust the public to make very good decisions.
