Biography
Qin Jingyan is an designer, artist, writer, educator, associate professor, and curator with 12+ years of experience creating communities and working within computing culture and industrial design. Education
Tsinghua University, P.R.China, Ph.D (01/2007) I studied with Professor LU Xiaobo, Professor LIU Guanzhong and Professor WANG Mingzhi and studied in the Information Art & Design Department while active in other disciplines including Computer Science, Sociology, Communications, New Media Arts and Contemporary Music. My Ph.D dissertation is Research on the Design Methods of Digital Cultural Heritage Based on Information Visualization.
Beijing Institute of Technology, P.R.China, MFA (03/2001) I studied in the Industrial Design Department while active in other disciplines including Computer Science, Sociology, Communications and New Media Arts.
Beijing Institute of Technology, P.R.China, BFA (07/1998) I studied in the Industrial Design Department with Professor ZHANG Nairen. My coursework included product design, computer science, major areas of artistic production, architecture, philosophy, science, video, and animation, with a strong emphasis on weekly critiques with peers, faculty, and outside practitioners.
