Biography
Qin Jingyan is an designer, artist, writer, educator, associate professor, and curator with 12+ years of experience creating communities and working within computing culture and industrial design. Education
Tsinghua University, P.R.China, Ph.D (01/2007) I studied with Professor LU Xiaobo, Professor LIU Guanzhong and Professor WANG Mingzhi and studied in the Information Art & Design Department while active in other disciplines including Computer Science, Sociology, Communications, New Media Arts and Contemporary Music. My Ph.D dissertation is Research on the Design Methods of Digital Cultural Heritage Based on Information Visualization.
Beijing Institute of Technology, P.R.China, MFA (03/2001) I studied in the Industrial Design Department while active in other disciplines including Computer Science, Sociology, Communications and New Media Arts.
Beijing Institute of Technology, P.R.China, BFA (07/1998) I studied in the Industrial Design Department with Professor ZHANG Nairen. My coursework included product design, computer science, major areas of artistic production, architecture, philosophy, science, video, and animation, with a strong emphasis on weekly critiques with peers, faculty, and outside practitioners.

    Oct 6 2011: We don't like the superpower and some idea of overlords, even when we were in the power center in Tang Dynasty over 1000 years ago. Like any other people in the world, we have the wish to live better and harmony with other people and the environment. Needless to say we have different kinds of people, some are excellent and obey some rules, some are breaking the rules in order to grasp rights to live better. But as one whole, we are diligent to live better by our own hands and minds. Today, we share the same sunshine, the same earth, the same good wish, and the same information, also, the same Steve, but we can not share the same noosphere and minds. We only communicate, not share the same minds.

    Oct 6 2011: Absolutely Yang Lan should be respected. She is only one symble and one of the diversified persons in China. We embrace diversity, no matter humanity, culture, or policy. Just like Wallstreet Strikes and Demonstrations, China faces many problems which are mainly caused by huge populations and lack of resources. Unfortunately, the young generations in 21st century in China must burden the future which comes from 19-20 centuries. Who robbed countless resources from China? Not Chinese. Who built and is building the peaceful China? Chinese like Yang Lan. Language is just a tool for communication. If we are in the different roads, we have no mutual protocal to communicate. There is proverb in the west, one eye for one eye, but too many eyes make you blind. I never believe that if your country and families meet some problems, nobody would like helping you first except youself and your families. Yang Lan has burdened too much, but she is never lonely. For human beings, we have one dream to make us living better, even though we face different and diversified problems.
