Jul 8 2010: Today in England newspaper was a comment about computer gameshad a link with ADHD,a research concluded children who played or watched television more then 3 hours per day had much higher chance to develop ADHD. What I think intersting it is no one ask about what kind of parents these children have? Considerinhg they are allowed to play computer games for more then 3hours Why dont do research and evaluate the emotional skills those parents have to be eficemoptional available for those children. or the emotional difficults those parents might have to be availeble to their kids. But blame computer it is so simplist and out of the blue. Considering emotion a very important tool for life, for menthal health what kind of parents those children have? what can be done to improve children menthal health thru helping parents dealing with their difficults in a more assertive way WE ARE SOCIAL animals improve our environment can be amazing helpful for all the children's brain.
Jul 6 2010: We are social animals, our world make an impact in a child 's brain for good and for bad. Why we dont think about the family dinamics as well. Why we dont do a clinical evaluation about this too? About the school dynamic? About the classroom dinamics?it is so trying to find the problem as if the problem was one thing not a complex multi factor issue. Why the organicist Psychology has difficult to be together with Psychotherapy thinking ? Who has no interest in Psychotherapy it is the pharma industry. They want to sale pills, machines, not a space to reflect to chance environments . I love the organicist knowlegde but it is time to use the mother of the science philosophy to reflect and make a real difference not beinpublishing millions of papers per year. Making the difference and really helping society to raise children in a healthier way (with a nicer family, nicer school and of course if needed pills)
Jul 6 2010: John whay we need a clinical evaluation? to make teachers less responsable for children failure? to make parents feeling less gulty for their emotional skill to bring kids in a healthy and mature way? So then we can blame nature. Organicist rezon and everyone can sleep happy. the parenst failling to be one as they work more then stay with their children. the school as they are interested in numbers achhieving some academic results. And the profitable pharma industry making a fortune in pills. And the scientists as they get money to do more researchs and more jobs. I just can not see a good point in find a clinical evaluation if we are missing a very important point the well being of the child.
Jul 6 2010: Drugs are not necessary easier but are profitable. Interesting but its this profits which will support the new researchs and all the science we are building. This simple knowlegde. I am italian , in italy Psychology and psychotherapyae together for any reason in English speakers country they searate from Psychology. It is like Psychology should be just organcist and not reflexive. We must bring reflexion back to this organicistr knowldge if we dont but things together has no sense in spend billions in research .
I say reflexive but I mean therapeutic. not self thelp or astrology but the scientific part of therapy which is think about emotion . About feeling vulnerable, about feeelind dropped out. Not feeling special buy anyind. Any way has nothing very new about it as Steiner, Montessori, Vigostky, Piaget and many other thinkers had spoken about it. Humanism that what is need in this obsessive compulosive disorder what we have being calling science.
Nov 2 2009: "Science helps us live longer, better and healthier lives" ..., what makes you live longer is education thru knowledge achieved. What make you happier, a mind who realized, it is do what you love. Could be art, could be science, could be teaching art or science. So what make you happy is more like to be linked with art, with intuition, with love and can be found anywhere even in a starving mind.or in a mind so poor, which can never afford to use all that amazing technology science might have.
So perhaps the most important one is the education, you can have the best training to be a teacher and what will make you an amazing teacher? your natural skill making you able to connect to the minds and make them connect to what you say. Education is like art and science, as friend said is like designer. it is maniqueist believe one is better than other or more important . both belong to our nature both belong to our skill able to change the world. We must build a new education system
Nov 1 2009: I wonder why we have to learn in different subjects. Why can we learn science and arts together? All the structure does not have a sense except to sell the product of education to parents(reminding here education in many countries is a very profitable business, including all the academics institutions), who most does not understand about education or children development.
At the public sector education is more lnked with winning the next election, and again does not have child as focus but their parents who will vote.

Your point of subjects should be stressed equally, it is just because parents prefer children learning time tables when they are 5then drawing. Everyone who knows about brain development knows their brain are not ready to learn time tables, and drawing could be much more important when they are5.

Steiner, Montessori, Vigotsky, Ericksson, Neils, Anna Freud, and so many thinkers had spoken about the educational system being a academic, copycat and not a thinking space or a place where a child should explore and create. All the "liberal" schools were very criticized, but actually they built something more humanistic and more focus on creative mind. If you grew up in a "conventional" school just visit the "liberal" schools, you might find one very close to your home.
It is interesting how cognitive thinkers denied other thinkers from different epistemological believes. Finally we are getting back to the 19th century questioning emotion value again.
If we focus on profits, all the educational structure is based on the most profitable subjects - pharmaceutic industry and technology. It was never the focus of the well being of a child(reminding the pharmaceutic and technology industries are very uch linked to army industry).
