My name is Jimoh Ovbiagele and I am an aspiring social entrepreneur.
I have diverse interests and hope to pursue, or incorporate, each one into the initiatives in which I bet my future. I hope that one day, my name will need no introduction- that I will be remembered as a caring, global citizen.
Recently, I have adopted an interest in how computer science can provide practical and affordable educational solutions for the poor; solutions that are accessible to and demanded by everyone, regardless of socioeconomic background.
I have an open mind and a love for learning, which drives my hard work.
Aside from my career, I like to read, play sports, and wage ruthless battles on Gears of War. I have a diverse taste in music, and I love thought provoking movies.
I spend my free time, when I'm not learning, hanging out (or "scening") with my friends. I have a philosophy: you either should be learning or having fun. Live. Love. Learn.
Technologies application and the effects it has on society.
In order to culture a socially responsible society, it is of utmost importance to provide the youth with freedom supplemented by knowledge. You can not practice making responsible choices if you have never held responsibility, which I see as freedom of choice. You can not be truly be responsible if your choices are made for you. Knowledge allows you to recognize the implications of your actions, the possibilities of your reach, and enables you to grab hold of your ultimate pursuits.
Anything. I love the world and the knowledge it has to offer. I love being posed by different questions. Unfortunately there is one exception: I do not particularly appreciate art beyond its visuals.
