I’m an active, prolific artist with over 15 years of production and media experience.
I started off studying theater and music at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. After my studies, I entered the world of experimental theater, studying abroad and performing all over the country as an established performance artist and playwright.
After years of touring, I moved to San Francisco where I started Thrush TV with a community of performers and non-performers. We developed a guerrilla-style approach to video production and created over 100 episodes that were distinctly fun, experimental and darkly comedic, several of which scored innovative programming awards. The improvisational technique we developed was one-of-a-kind and allowed people who had never acted or directed before a chance to let their individual light shine.
Since my return to New Jersey, I returned to writing, a staple enterprise since the beginning of my career. My online audience grew quickly and vastly, with several of my pieces reaching viral status, as well as appearing in The Village Voice, Salon and Open Salon, among others.
I also started this darling online media business. Ah, freedom. It allows me to showcase my multi-layered creative and professional strengths, using a method that is distinctly my own. I have an uncanny ability to draw creativity out of others and translate it into profit and empowerment. It’s a personal strength of mine. (Along with mud wrestling and speed crochet.)
What else about me?
I live at the Jersey shore. I love cooking, good wine, great friends, surfing, animals, pop and rock music and my Mac. I talk to myself a bit too much (it’s solo brainstorming, I swear) and sing loudly in my room, as well as with a choir. I know so many wonderful people around the world and constantly play creative matchmaker with them. And I believe in old-fashioned magic, so there’s a touch of the metaphysical to my work.
I truly enjoy helping other people unleash their wild side, clean it up a little and sell it! Hot Buttered Media was created with this philosophy in mind.
Passion.

A comment on Conversation: Are you optimistic or pessimistic, and why?
A comment on Conversation: Can surf help people on organizations?
One way in which surfing is annoying but helpful? A difficult paddle out. Its hard after you've had a bad day, because you keep getting hit and hit again and you don't seem to be progressing at all. But eventually, with some time and perseverance, you make it out. So patience for sure.
As for increasing my creativity, I'm sure it has, but I can't see the immediate connection. I know its easier to be creative living by the sea than when I lived in the city. Well, maybe. That's a tough one: I don't know if its helped me be anymore creative, but it makes me happier, therefore I'm sure it contributes.
